About

Buxted Construction was formed in 1994 and is one of the larger contractors carrying out groundworks, infrastructure and civil engineering works, primarily for the major residential housing developers.

Our philosophy is to be as flexible and co-operative as possible both in the way we carry out the work and our interpretation of the contract. We work hard to understand our clients’ requirements and we understand the pressures under which they operate. We know the importance of the groundworks and infrastructure works to the overall success of development projects.

We also understand the importance of producing a cost effective service and we are often called upon to provide input at the design stage to help reduce the overall cost of the project.

We understand the importance of working safely in this dangerous industry and continually strive to instill a “safety first” culture into all our staff and operatives.

Like all companies, we rely on our staff and operatives to deliver the good service that our clients require. At Buxted, we aim to provide a supportive working environment where all staff are treated with respect in order that we can attract and retain the best available personnel in the industry. We have a committed and loyal workforce and enjoy a very low turnover of staff.

Buxted have received numerous awards for quality and good service, which is backed up by our dedicated customer care team who assist with remedial works. We also have an emergency phone line to offer clients 24/7 support for out of hours work.

What we do and where we operate

We construct all the groundwork and infrastructure on new build development sites on behalf of our clients.
This generally involves:

•Installing the main foul and surface water drainage along with any ponds and pumping stations.
•All new roads and car parks,
•Foundations to new houses and flats up to ground floor level.
•Excavation for installation of new water gas and electric mains to supply new houses with power.
•Completing the finishes e.g. slabs and topsoil to houses once they have been built.
•Installation of any new offsite road works required. This may involve installing a new junction of an existing road to allow access to the new development.

We have on average 30 sites at any one time located all over the south-east of England. Most sites are within a 40-mile radius of London.
